Lupita Private Island

Located on Lake Tanganyika in western Tanzania, the longest, second oldest and second deepest lake in the world, this 110-acre private island resort has eleven lavishly decorated, thatched-roof living spaces including a family cottage all strategically positioned to offer both privacy and breathtaking, uninterrupted views of Africa’s second largest lake.
Getting there:
Lupita Island is accessed via a short drive, from Kipili airstrip, and then a speedboat ride to the island.
Scheduled flights to Kipili are possible on Mondays and Thursdays. Also from Dar es Salaam (via the Selous, Ruaha and Katavi), or from Arusha and the Serengeti.
Best time to visit.
The best time to travel is during dry season from June through to late October
Few showers during November through until March, heavy rains during April to May, and many lodges do closing during this period

Lupita Island Resort has ten uniquely crafted cottages, which all benefit from breathtaking lake and mountain views seen from their open verandas, making the most of the balmy breezes and memorable sunsets. Dotted amongst a tropical forest of indigenous trees, the property strives to leave as little mark on the natural environment as possible. Our smallest cottages are 1800 square feet and our two-bedroom, two-bath family suite is 2500 square feet
